Tiggy

Today I finished up a LO that I had started and felt discouraged by. I wasn't sure I was going to like it but now that its finished I like it. Not my best by far but I like it more than I did before. I also did a photo shoot with one of our kittens, Tigger. It was fun especially because I had my boyfriend's SLR to play with.

Adventures in Hand-Stitching

I tried hand-stitching for the first time today. It wasn't much. Just a bit in the corner and I stitched the button on. I would def be willing to try it again. I've avoided sewing for so long thinking it wouldn't be worth it and the little sewing machine I had didn't work for paper but doing it myself was rather simple and worth the look. The card was made using CPS sketch #70. I was particularly inspired by Melissa's interpretation.

Pepper

For most of yesterday and today I have been helping my sister, a fashion major, with her final project for a design class. She had to pick a product inspiration and create an outfit that including recycling the product packaging into the outfit. Well she choose Dr. Pepper and over the course of two days a purse, dress, belt, and earrings. Duct tape was a lifesaver in constructing the purse. I was mostly in charge of purse design and construction. It was very time consuming but I am very proud of it. But tomorrow I'd like to work on a scrap project instead. I have a birthday card needed soon.

Graduation!

No scrapping got done today but my cousin graduated from high school and bought her first car today. I'm so proud of her especially for the car. She's growing into such a beautiful, responsible, and fun woman. Here's the card I made for her and a picture of the graduate herself.

Finishing Touches

I find that journaling is the most difficult step of scrapping sometimes. I enjoy picking from vast collection of pretty papers and embellies and making other design decisions. But journaling always takes longer. Even though I finished a winter holiday album in January I just did the journaling for it this week. Finishing that made me motivated to add journaling and finishing touches to a few pages that were waiting for only that. I still have a few more LOs in need but hopefully I can take care of that soon. Tomorrow I'll be at the eye doctor's and watching my cousin graduate so I don't think I'll get any projects finished then. This LO finally got its journaling today and I love it. I had so much building that snow-woman with my friends.

RACS in NYC

Since I'm home for summer and completely jobless, I've been taking time to scrapbook. I'd rather have a job and I'm still working on it or at least finding a volunteer position but until then I'll be working on projects. I'm going to try to make one thing on every week day until I find a job or some other commitment. That way I'll feel a little less useless. Also I'm going to be working on finally getting a license. I'm turning 21 in the fall and still don't have my driver's license so I really need to work on that. Also I'm thinking about entering more scrapbook contests and calls. I'm not sure I've got the talent but I'd like to try. I think I've improved a lot since I've started and I'm proud of what I've created lately.
