Creating a Artsy Look with Distress Products and Newton's Nook Beautiful Blossoms

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a card over on the Newton's Nook blog. I did some Distress Ink smooshing and then embossed the flowers from Beautiful Blossoms. I finished it off with some Distress Stain splatters. You can check out a video tutorial for more information.

I have heard that the splatter technique can harm your Distress stains so a fun cheap alternative is bingo markers. I have a video comparing Distress Stains and Bingo Markers and showing more techniques. You can find bingo markers at your dollar store or online.

No Line Watercoloring with Inktense Pencils and Create a Smile Stamps

No Line Rainbow Watercoloring with Inktense Pencils and Create a Smile Stamps by Jess Gerstner

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a card featuring Create a Smile stamps and Inktense no line watercoloring. I recorded the coloring of this card on a Periscope broadcast and was able to upload it to YouTube if you want to check it out. However it is much more fun to join in the live broadcasts because you can chat. So follow @JessCrafts on Periscope to catch the next live broadcast.

I stamped in Antique Linen Distress Ink because the Distress Ink will react with water and blend in. Any light colored Distress Ink would work similarly. For Inktense pencil coloring I color directly to the paper for the intense color. The sentiment is a mix of Create a Smile Cool Buddies and Newton's Nook Simply Sentimental.

Embossed Masculine Deer Card for Lawnscaping Challenge 112 Embossing

Masculine Birthday Card with Deer featuring Lawn Fawn Party Animals

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a card for the latest Lawnscaping challenge. Today's challenge is embossing! We want to see something with any kind of embossing including heat or dry embossing, embossing paste etc combined with some Lawn Fawn goodies. So for today's card I stamped and colored some of the fun images from Party Animals to put over my woodgrain background. Check out my video for more on this card.

I love how you can use the cutesy Lawn Fawn critters on masculine cards just by picking the right colors and textures to pair them with. I can't wait to see all the clever ways people use embossing for this challenge.

Using a Stencil to Guide a Copic Colored Background for The Daily Marker Pop Up Coloring Challenge

Copic Colored Ocean Background Birthday Card featuring Gerda Steiner Designs Heavy Friends

Hello crafty friends! Today I am here with a card for The Daily Marker Pop Up Challenge to use lines. I decided to use a stencil to help me create my lines. For more on how I made this card check out my video.

As mentioned in the video the stencil is from Simon Says Stamp and the stamps are from Gerda Steiner Designs. If you are wondering why there is popcorn in the picture it is a fun way to signify the 'pop' up challenge around the web and on social media.

Back to School Treats for Lawnscaping Challenge #111 Back to School

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a treat bag for the latest Lawnscaping challenge. Today's challenge is back to school! We want to see something with a back to school theme combined with some Lawn Fawn goodies. So for today's treat bags I stamped some of the fun images from A Good Apple to create a background for the bird from Science of Love. Check out my video for more on this card.

It is so easy to use the Lawn Fawn alphabets to create your own custom sentiment. Once I decided on a design these little cards were easy and to put together. You could make a few for your kiddos and their new teachers or even make some for a whole class. I can't wait to see all the clever back to school ideas for this challenge.

The sponsor for this challenge is Ellen Hutson. There will be a $25 gift certificate of the Ellen Hutson store for the winner. Thank you Ellen for your support!
